The Rev. Canon George Kwari

Fr. George was born in Bulawayo, and raised in the Eastern Highlands of Mutare, Zimbabwe.

Fr. George studied at the Bishop Gaul College, the National Anglican Seminary and the Jesuit school of Philosophy before graduating with a Bachelor of Honours in Divinity from the Africa University.  He was ordained to the diaconate in the Diocese of Manicaland in 2005 and priested in the Diocese of Masvingo in 2006.

Fr. George moved to Canada in November 2007 to become Assistance Curate at St. Thomas the Apostle, Ottawa.  He completed his Master of Pastoral Theology at St Paul’s University in 2009.

Since then he has served in various parishes in the Diocese of Algoma before returning to the Diocese of Ottawa in April 2013 to become the Incumbent for the Parishes of Maberly-Lanark and Parham-Sharbot Lake.  Fr. George was appointed Incumbent to St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Ottawa on January 15, 2017 and was inducted on February 22nd, 2017.

Fr. George is married to Epiphania. They have two children Simbarashe Rolland and Ropafadzo Joy.
